I’m not exactly sure what it’s about but i’m inferring that it’s about writing to your 12-year old self…

Dear 12-year old Ridz,
You’ve been a bad bad boy. I know because it’s when you were in Primary 6 that you started not doing your homework. I also know that you sit beside some guy that never does his homework too and you’re evil enough to quickly answer questions in class so that you seem to be that smart guy who does all his work. I’m telling you to stop trying to cover own ass for shit that you didn’t do otherwise, it’ll only be when you go to Secondary 1 that you’ll realise how you’ll make the mistake of buying more time for the price of losing a possibly good friendship. Nevertheless, secondary school is going to be your defining period. Who you’re going to be for at least the next 10 years of your life will hinge on the friends that you will make in secondary school. Many of those guys will last you through life simply because they are who they are. Don’t be shy about being that nerd that you are…go ahead…join Computer Club and be the programmer in the lot. It’ll serve you well. And yes, if things get tough in the Student Council, suck it up. You’ll do just fine.I write this to you wanting to tell you what you should or should not do but I will not because I find that I am who I am because you will go through all the things that you will and I cannot fathom being any different.

I will part saying this though. Enjoy your secondary school days…treasure every moment. And when it ends…keep the fire going….

Thirteen Things I’d like to buy right now 1…A MacBook Pro in Black      Do I really have to explain this one? 2…A Sony T100 Camera in Black      I need a camera and not only does this fit the functional profile, it’s also really very pretty. haha 3…An IPhone      Another Apple Accessory. Apple stuff needs no explanation. 4…2 x 1GB RAM Chips      I’m on 512MB RAM. And it’s all used as soon as i’m done booting up. Bleagh. 5…A pre-order package of Command & Conquer 3      Have you seen the screenshots and all? Damn. Beauty. 6…A Free Flow Starbucks Card      Ok. Fine. There’s no such thing. But couldn’t they make one just for me? I’ll pay..ermm…$50 a month? 7…A new pair of shoes      This is something I so want to buy…The shoes I’m wearing are like years old…And it took me so long to get that one simply because I didn’t like any other shoe. i think I only wear nike. And even then none of the present designs appeal to me right now. double bleagh. 8…A new bag      Preferably one that’s good for backpacking? Recommendations? 9…A pair of powered Oakley shades      I’ve always wanted to wear shades…but since I’ve never worn and probably will never wear contacts, I need one that’s well…custom made? 10…A set of solutions to this semester’s exam        Also another thing that doesn’t exist(at least not until next semester). 11…A 500-piece jigsaw puzzle       I’ve realised that I don’t have the patience to fix a 1000 piece puzzle. Thirteen Things I want achieve this year 1. Get a proper system up for my Voices Project. You can check it out at voices.ridzuan.info 2. Put up a conference that’s fun and "Wows" people. 3. Donate Blood. I’ve never done this before 4. Read 20 books. I’m only at like 2 so far. 5. Publish a regular stream of e-magazines for XSmatter 6. Grow my company profits by another 100% 7. Get experience in pitching for investment funds 8. Register XSMatter Events and turn it into something that’s fun for all the people who are part of it 9. Give out my first Beanbag of the Year! This is instead of giving out some employee of the year award. 10. Start writing a book. Specifically a novel. 11. Run a total of 600km. I’m at like 12km so far? 12. Go on a short holiday with friends at the end of the year. 13. Finish up all my university modules up to Year 3 Semester 1. Links to other Thursday Thirteens!

Thirteen Things I would rather be doing… 1. Watch Rocketboom 2. Read a book - I’ve been wanting to read God Delusions by Richard Dawkins for a long time now… 3. Create a podcast - I met up with an old friend lately and i think we’re going to create our very own little media channel. Not sure how things will be…but hey, we should all be doing fun things right? 4. Catch a movie! - I so want to catch a movie. Any movie… 5. Focus on trying to be a better writer - I’m porting some of my old blog entries into here and I can’t help but think that I used to write a whole lot better than I do now… 6. Learn how to bake cookies - so that I, and only I, can’t snack on them in the middle of the night 7. Learn how to make a kickass dish - What better way to impress people(girls actually) than to cook up a storm! 8. Shop for a new phone - My k700i is dying on me…recommendations anyone? 9. Grab a cup of coffee with old friends 10. Travel around the world - There are so many places I want to go to…I think I should go add more places to my 43places.com account 11.
