I was talking to Malcolm last night and it went on to many different issues. Family and friends were very big ones.
On Family
Many of us do what we do for our families. We make little changes in our beliefs and big sacrifices just so that we can accommodate them yet the responses we get isn't always the expected response don't you think? Yet, we suck it in and carry on making that sacrifice for them. How far do we go selfishly and how far selflessly?
On Friends
As I grow up, I realise that my social circle shrinks. My Best friends get further away, my Good friends become simple friends, and my friends become mere acquaintance. Some, they just disappear(Ok, i have no idea why I have this fascination with disappearing people). I know it's about keeping in touch and making and effort. I also know that eventually everyone will pursue their own line of interests hence the phenomenon. But is there really no way for friends to remain a friendship that is as strong as it was in the past? I shudder at the thought that this is one of those things life throws in my face and say, "Take it. No choice."
