What are the chances I’ll bump into her? 0.01%
And if i do, what are the chances are she’d have coffee with me? 0.1%

It’s been a very quick long week - you know, the kind that passed very quickly yet when you look back it’s almost as if years have passed since the last weekend.

I was having a conversation with Anand several weeks(or was it months?) back and we spoke of the education system and the way of life here in Singapore and something he said struck me…it’s along the lines of "Here, student’s are burnt out too soon." And in many ways, it’s true i think. We’re pushed to achieve right from the very start that we often don’t have a proper motivation behind wanting to chase after those achievements. Initially, it’s fine but as we grow into our JC or university phases, it reaches a point for many where there’s just not enough push to force us to really achieve.

So…
no push.
no motivation.
no passion.
burn out.

I’m not sure where I am at this point, but i’m quite close to getting burnt out. Maybe it’s a culmination of the all the workload this semester has put me through. But I can’t make the connection between what i’m studying and what i’m actually doing for my own future and that disconnect really adds a lot of stress on my part.

And so while I know I should take a step back to put things in perspective. This fast-paced lifestyle that I live in  affords me no time to waste forcing me to deceive myself…

"Press on boy. Don’t stop."
