To one of the coolest teams around
April 12, 2007 on 12:36 am | In Reflections | No CommentsToday I was reminded of what it was to be in a team again.
For the past 13 weeks, i’ve been involved in a software development project for one of my modules. NTU Computer Engineering students might refer to it as CPE207-Software Engineering. It’s requirements involve the entire cohort to be split into several sub-systems.
Each sub-system will then develop a portion of the overall system, integrate all the sub-systems into one functional system and demonstrate its capabilities the the lab supervisor(who is supposedly a simulation of an actual real-life client).
I happen to be in the database system. Our job is simple, we simply store all the data that everyone needs and give them any information that they require to be able to get their jobs done. It’s a 10-man team. Along the way, of course we realised that less than 10 men are working. in fact, only about 4 or 5 really do work.
I’m not going to go into details about all the ‘complaints’ because when you look back, everyone did do something even if it were a very very minute part as compared to everyone else….but what I really want to talk about is this…When it’s all done and over, there’s this sense of satisfaction and camaraderie you get because you were part of the group that did stuff. And that feeling is priceless.
You leave knowing that "If I had to serve with him again, I would. Anytime."
about 180 people. What seemed like an impossible task….done.
Here’s to the T1000 Database Sub-System. Great Job People~!
