Mid-Day: 21st June 2007

If anything, it’s been an extremely slow morning with my missing out on my run as well as the morning post…

I was reading about the dengue situation in Singapore and it begins to worry me because my brother had a bout of dengue last year which left him hospitalised and extremely weak for quite some time. It really sounds very trivial when you read about it in the papers but when you actually know someone who’s down with it, the severity of it starts to hit you.

If you’d like to know more about what the National Environment Agency is doing, head on over to their site

I think it’s time i head on down to Geek Terminal for my not-so-daily fix of solitude.

Playing with Foolishness

End of Day 1.

The single most powerful lesson of the day must be my uploading of that Youtube video. On normal days, i think i’d find myself laughing my socks off at how stupid someone who does that is. But i’ve realised it’s quite different to actually be the one that’s gone through with it.

Firstly, the decision to do it was a simple “Yes. Let’s just this.” And somehow, I felt this  approach was something I need to do more when it comes to trying new things. I don’t ever want to be constrained by societal expectations. I want to be able to do something simply because I want to do it. The process of determining whether something is something I really want to do is the part that needs to be refined though….

Well…on a part technical note, i pulled that off in a series of RAM consuming steps…

1. Copy .vro file from miniDVD
2.  Extract the scene to a .mpg(i can only extract to that format)
3. convert .mpg to .mov
4. Use sony soundforge 8 to edit .mov file
5. Ensure that both song mp3 and .mov files are at same frequency
6. overlay and synchronise the actual song to the video channel
7. save

…There must be an easier way of doing this.

Gone to sleep. Off to day 2.
