Turn your iPod Touch into a Low Cost iPhone

Jajah has just released a new application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that effectively allows you to make phone calls using your phone’s(or your iPod Touch’s) data connection.

The application can be accessed via http://iphone.jajah.com from your device.

So how does this impact you? Well, in an area where you have data connection, you won’t have to use your telco service. You can just ride of the Net to make phone calls. Jajah also offers an internation calling option so you don’t necessarily have to pay the telco for it.

I find it cool because it turns a non-phone into a phone.

If you’re in United Arab Emirates…No Twitter for you.

Apparently, if you’re in UAE, and you try to access Twitter, what you see is a block message…apparently twitter’s marked as harbouring content that’s not consistent with "the religious, cultural, political and moral values of the United Arab Emirates."

M1 Broadband Now Unlimited!

I was proud many months back when I was amongst the first to adopt this. I remember going for Ping.sg’s gathering at Pitstop Cafe and was the only one with the M1 Broadband. Haha

Anyway, since then they’ve increased the chargeable cap to 50GB(which means after the initial 5GB, they can keep charging you per GB until you hit 50GB!) which was announced in a rather deceiving announcement letter. Jean talks about that here.

Anyway, recently Singtel upped their data usage limit from 5GB to 50GB for no extra charge to their users. I figured that this would cause other telcos to make the same move eventually hitting unlimited next year.

Lo and behold! I was sort of right! In fact they didn’t even bother to match 50GB, they went straight to unlimited!

…But like miccheng said, this would probably mean a deterioration in speed. I so hope he’s wrong…heh

At night.

Her smile, her laughter, her voice. It calms him. It makes him grin endlessly. It causes the stars to shine somewhat brighter. The breeze suddenly seems colder. The world suddenly more joyful. Images of a world that truly lives would fill his head and remind him of what life really is. He knows that he lies when he says the world rests on his shoulders and its his duty to make it better - he’d gladly trade it all just to make her smile…just to spend eternity lost in her eyes.

And then it happens. Like always.

The boy shuts his eyes and the past catches up with the present like a hungry beast waiting to devour fresh blood - the heart being especially scrumptuous.

The boy snaps,
“Silence!
You will not do this me!

You…will…not…
…please.”

And as quickly as it came, it disappeared.

Then the stars seemed to shine brighter.
A breeze blew into his room.
And the world…more joyful.

It’s 4am. 4.20am to be exact. And
I can’t sleep.

I’ve tried listening to music

I can’t sleep.

I’ve got a full day ahead.
I’ve got a head that’s feeling quite full.
I’ve got shivers running down my spine.
I’ve got this tingling sensation all over.
Is that why I can’t sleep?

I want to sleep. I do.
